Welcome to the Isle of Purbeck Sub-Aqua Club, based in Swanage, Dorset.

New for Summer 2010 - 'Come and Meet the Club' and Try Dives at Kimmeridge Bay.

The club gets together every Monday evening throughout the summer at Kimmeridge Bay. It’s the perfect opportunity for a shallow dive in the bay, or just the chance to relax and watch the sun go down while waiting for supper to cook on the barbeque.

This year we will be offering you the opportunity to join us at one of our meet ups and take part in a ‘Try Dive’ in the sea. Alternatively, if you’d like to come along and meet some club members just to have a chat about the club and the diving we do, please feel free to join us.

For more information click HERE.

Learn to Dive

Are you interested in learning to dive ? Why not come along to one of our Try Dive sessions where you can have a go at scuba diving in the swimming pool and find out more about our club. For more information click HERE.

About Us

Tens of thousands of Divers over the past 40 years have made Swanage their diving destination. The Pier is a popular starting point for boats going out to wrecks and reefs, while others prefer the waters under the Pier for their relaxing dive.

This is the home of The Isle of Purbeck SAC whose members consider themselves very fortunate to have such a range of interesting dive sites at their 'fin tips'.

Diving

During the summer months, the Club has a jam packed dive schedule, with regular evening diving from Kimmeridge Bay every Monday and from Swanage Pier every Wednesday, as well as all-day midweek and weekend dives. We have our own club rib available for use by all our members. The Diving link above takes you to more info about the sort of diving we do.

Training

Every year we run try-dive sessions at Purbeck Sports Centre, leading on to the BSAC Ocean Diver training course. Much of the open water training dives take place in Swanage Bay, which has depths to around 15 metres. We also offer training to Sports Diver level as well as arranging other BSAC skills courses, for example, oxygen administration. Click on the Training link above to find out more.

Social

Once the diving season is over, things don't end there ! We have an active social club which allows members to stay in touch over the winter months. Check out the Newsletter archive to see the sort of things we get up to !

We are a friendly crowd and would love to hear from anyone locally who would like to join IPSAC. If you are a qualified Diver and coming this way for a holiday, drop an email to our Chairman and fix yourself a dive with us.
