Membership of IPSAC

We welcome existing divers from all agencies and of all abilities who are looking to join a club for regular diving and/or find a buddy.

The club currently has about 45 members with varying interests; photographers, Seasearch divers and divers who prefer things of a rusty nature (wrecks). That means we cover a wide variety of diving from a shallow bimble to a deeper challenge… Swanage Pier may only be a few metres deep, but is so rich in wildlife that even the most experienced diver will find things of interest under there!

If you are interested in joining us, whether you are an experienced diver, just building experience or somewhere in between, please get in touch using our Contact Us page.

And if you are just thinking of starting your underwater journey and wish to learn around the Swanage area, please use the Contact Us page to let us know and we can put you in touch with a local instructor.

Regular Diving

We make the most of the summer months (May ‐ Oct) with a Club Night every Wednesday evening and a scheduled dive every weekend. Extra dives are added if the weather is good.

With so many great dive sites within easy reach of our base at Swanage Pier, and with the benefit of club members who have been diving these waters for many years, we know exactly where the best spots are along the Dorset coast

Where We Dive

We offer both shore and boat diving options to explore various dive sites.

We regularly dive Swanage Pier (well known and well‐regarded shore dive with easy access from the Pier car park steps). We also shore dive out of Kimmeridge, Portland, Weymouth and Bournemouth. For boat diving, we offer dives on a boat owned by one of our club members and we also book hard boat diving with charter boat operators.

All of these dives are added to our Trip Schedule which is prepared over winter and updated as the season progresses. The Trip Schedule always includes club favourites such as the Black Hawk, Peveril Buoy and the Kyarra, but we are always keen to find new dive sites and will explore anything which looks interesting. Online Booking System

Club members have access to a web‐based dive booking system which allows them to view the Event Schedule and book onto any of the planned trips or socials. The booking system provides information about each planned dive, including a short summary of the site, depth, space availability and any last minute cancellations due to bad weather. Friendly Members

Join a community of friendly members with a wealth of diving experience.

We welcome BSAC divers as well as those from other agencies. We have also established friendships with guest divers who continue to visit us year after year, so if you're planning a trip to Dorset and looking for a friendly club to join for a couple of day's diving, please get in touch using our Contact Us page

Low Cost Membership

Current club membership fees are a bargain at £20 per year. We ask our members to provide proof of a valid diving medical and either proof of BSAC membership or valid 3rd party diving insurance cover

Social Events

Our Club Night is on Wednesday - in summer, that means a dive, then the pub. In winter, we usually skip the dive and just head straight to the pub!

We also organise meals out to celebrate the start and end of the diving season, BBQs and picnics during the summer, cosy gatherings in winter and we're always happy to squeeze in some extra socials if someone decides to organise one
